
Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta officially concluded its internship program with students from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta (ISI Yogyakarta), marking the completion of a four-month industry immersion program conducted from February to May 2026. The farewell ceremony was held at the historic Pendopo Agung Kedhaton Ambarrukmo, symbolizing the successful collaboration between higher arts education and a culture-based luxury hospitality institution.
A total of 23 students from the Faculty of Performing Arts at ISI Yogyakarta participated in the internship program, comprising 3 students from the Dance Department and 20 students from the Karawitan (Javanese Traditional Music) Department. Throughout the program, the students were actively involved in a variety of cultural and artistic initiatives that form an integral part of the guest experience at Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Javanese arts and heritage for both domestic and international visitors.
The internship program reflects a meaningful partnership between academia and industry, providing students with practical learning opportunities while offering valuable insights into how traditional performing arts can be thoughtfully integrated into a contemporary luxury hospitality environment.
During the ceremony, the students were officially released by General Manager of Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta, I Gede Sujana, and ceremonially welcomed back by ISI Yogyakarta, represented by Dindin Heryadi, S.Sn., M.Sn., Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Performing Arts.
Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta expressed its appreciation for the dedication, creativity, and contributions demonstrated by the students throughout the internship period.
